Our passion and dedication to our work translate to our well-loved apparel — from the yarn to the finished garment.

Lifeline Milestones

Established in March 6, 1990, Megabasic Shirt Inc., is a leading garment manufacturer of Basic T-Shirts and Polo Shirts in the Philippines for over 35 years. It was established with the aim of providing high-quality but affordable clothing for the Philippine market. Under the company are two clothing brands: Lifeline, which is our main and more premium brand, and Classicwear, which is our more budget-friendly offering. To date, our clientele ranges from the biggest corporations down to SMEs, and our products are available nationwide through a network of authorized distributors.

1990-2000s

1990-2000s

  • • In 1990, we started out as a small garment manufacturing company and sold plain shirts to dealers in Divisoria, Manila under the Lifeline brand.
  • • We also accepted some cut and sew work from local garment exporters for a time.
  • After a while, we also started with the Classicwear brand.
2001-2004

2001-2004

  • • In 2001, we started selling catalog style RTWs, and had an in-house designer that helped us release collections every quarter.
  • • We launched it alongside our own Lifeline catalog featuring our plain shirts as well as shirts with designs and sold them to our dealers in Juan Luna, Divisoria, and Baclaran.
2005

2005

  • • By 2004, at the height of the catalog craze in Divisoria, there were around six apparel brands launching their own RTW catalogs every 3 to 4 months.
  • The market was saturated and margins were not good anymore.
  • • Unsold inventory from previous catalog releases started to accumulate at a worrisome rate.
  • We eventually decided to exit the RTW catalog market.
2006-2019

2006-2019

  • • During this time, we saw the potential of polo shirts as a product that might rival round neck shirts.
  • So we decided to take the risk of manufacturing Lifeline polo shirts with 6 sizes and around 28 colors.
  • • After a while, the Lifeline polo shirt gained traction in the market and has been our champion product until this very day.
2020

2020

  • • With the pandemic, we had to adjust our business model and eventually went into a full digitalization with our products and platforms.
  • • Since then, we have worked on our online presence by setting up Facebook and Instagram Pages as well as E-commerce through Shopee, Lazada, and Tiktok stores.

Made for Life. Built on Consistent Quality

Every LIFELINE piece is made to meet the same standard: dependable comfort, consistent fit, and lasting wear. To uphold this standard, each batch goes through a series of quality checks at key stages of production, from fabric inspection to final garment evaluation.

Fabric Standards

Fabric Standards

Before production begins, the fabric used for each product is carefully verified to confirm that it meets our required material standards. We measure the fabric weight (GSM) of every batch to check that it falls within the specified range for each product. This helps maintain the intended balance of comfort, durability, and structure across all shirts.

For our polo shirts, collars and cuffs are also examined to verify stitch density and construction quality. This helps maintain the same level of structure, consistency, and durability across every production batch.

Color Matching

Color Matching

Consistency in color is essential to maintaining a clean and reliable look. After each dye batch is completed, the fabric is compared against our approved color standards under controlled lighting conditions that simulate natural daylight. This allows us to confirm that the shade matches our established reference before production continues.

Many of the shades in our range today have remained part of our standards since 1990, reflecting the consistency we have maintained through the years.

Preformance Testing

Performance Testing

To check how the fabric performs in everyday use, we conduct controlled wash and dry tests. These tests assess how the fabric responds to washing, including shrinkage and color stability. Only fabric batches that remain within our allowable tolerance for both proceed to the next stage of production.

Final Inspection

Final Inspection

Once each shirt is assembled, it undergoes a final evaluation using our internal 25-point inspection checklist. Key measurements are verified to maintain the intended fit, while the garment is also checked for fabric integrity, finishing quality, and overall presentation. Only pieces that meet all criteria move forward to packing and distribution.
